Koli Cultural Society
Koli Cultural Society was founded in 1999. The purpose of the Society is to maintain and to enliven the cultural life in Koli. The Society organizes cultural events in the Koli area. The non-profit organization is run by volunteers. The Society emphasizes communality and the involvement of the local community.
Geographically Koli is far removed from the metropolises of the world, but the Society brings the world to the people of Koli. In the company of diverse guest artists, the locals in Koli can enjoy cultural experiences and participatory interaction. In the remote countryside, communal cultural action has a great impact on warding off loneliness and strengthening wellbeing.

The nature in Koli is outstandingly beautiful with lake Pielinen and forest covered hills. Koli's hills are remnants of the ancient Karelidian mountain range. The highest point of the hill range is Ukko-Koli, rising about 347 meters above sea level. We encourage you to visit the Koli National Park and the National Park Center Ukko, which also hosts art exhibitions. In Koli you can enjoy the beautiful nature in many ways: in the winter you can do both cross-country and downhill skiing or try snow shoes. In the summer, you can hike, bike and paddle. Please ask the tourist information for more information and rental equipment.

Hence it is known as the Finnish national landscape. There is also a local history museum in the backyard of Kolin Ryynänen. It is open in the summer months.
